Time Record (1998 – 2024) is an artist’s edition of Marie-Sophie Beinke (1990, Munich) consisting of two images taken at Staudensichtungsgarten Weihenstephan (Botanical Garden Weihenstephan) near Munich in Germany. To track and document time Beinke restaged and recaptured a 1998 portrait. The original portrait was taken aged 8, the subsequent aged 33. Both depict the artist. Beinke revisited the garden and endeavored to recover the identical spot the original photograph was taken. After a time span of 26 years the 1998 red flower field seized to exist, wherefore the second portrait is taken in a different part of the garden. The portrait from 1998 is realized in this artist’s edition as a silkscreen print, the portrait of 2024 as a digital print in CMYK.
